Philanthropy

From early 2000s, Sia and I, had been giving to various charities and involved in many non-profit organizations such as Home Away from Homelessness, Latino Unidos, Parca and Shelter Network, just to name a few. As I was a graphic designer and had difficulty making ends meet, Sia and I have a soft spot for struggling artists, and try to help those that reach out – whether it is a commission for murals, paintings or sculptures.

In 2015, with the help of our kids, Sia and I created the Tahbazof Family Foundation, a private family foundation committed to giving with a focus on poverty, education, environment, medicine and arts and culture. We wanted to start this foundation to create an avenue of gifting and to establish a family legacy of philanthropy that will hopefully be passed down from each generation to generation. To learn more about the family foundation, please see https://tahbazof-foundation.com.

Sia and I were one of the first to donate to a cause that is still very near and dear to him and his wife –Mom’s Against Poverty. We are proud sponsor of Moms Against Poverty, an organization focused on fighting global childhood poverty by providing education, hunger relief, orphan care, and health care. We have also helped fund multiple schools and orphanages in the most impoverished areas of the world.

We have even maintained our gifting throughout covid even though our income, which is only from our rental properties, was reduced by more than 50%. Philanthropic giving has always been, and will always remain, a driving factor in our life.
